Pursuing the difficult things and why it feels so gross

Updated: Aug 18, 2023

If there's an inkling that they'll fuel your soul, that's enough proof that the thing is worthwhile doing.

Whether that's starting a business, beginning a new hobby that's way outside your comfort zone, or sharing your thoughts and feelings on the internet like me right now.

Outside comfort zones

The thing carries a perceived risk - whether that's a chance you'll fail, or that you'll be judged for your ambition or actions.

The number one goal of our nervous systems is safety. You chasing your dreams - well that just isn't safe!

Therefore the more you want to do something, the more perceived danger our minds identify, and the stronger the feeling of discomfort gets.
